The Giles County History book published in 1982 says that Aug. 6 1851 Perm. - Samuel T. Rutledge married Adaline C. Sartain; by David Sartain (father); Witness: Eli Mullens, John A. Rutlege. Sur: Samuel T. Rutledge, David Rutledge.

Land Taxes 1851: lists a W. Henry Rutledge and David Sartain

Death records: David Sartain June 26, 1866

There is also info on a Joel Sartin Sr. (don't know if connected since spelling is different) during the Rev. War period. Although in the article there is mention of John Sartain Jr & Sr. in Capt. John Luca's company
