VAUGHT, James Lewis b 1828

I am researching James Lewis Vaught. Apparently born June 1828 - Montgomery county, but it looks to me like he lived in Giles county) My goal is to find his father or mother. I have no direct evidence of his family connections. He lived near the Town of Newport, Giles County, VA in 1850. He sold property to Charles Payne - the Tavern House and Stable and all the property which James Dowdy resided on, the Still house, previously owned by Dr. Charles W. Pearis of Christiansburg, , land on the Mill lot including the 'Millers' House and land owned by the Bargers, known as the Barger House. Source: Deed to Charles H. Payne lifted by Wm. H. Snidow 1856, Giles County Land and Property Records. His father is not listed on his marriage record to Virginia A. Peery - 1951. He was a confederate soldier in the MO 3rd infantry, but there is no information concerning his parents on these records. He was a methodist by religion and migrated to Missouri after 1857, then settled in Arkansas. Would appreciate any help.
