My brick wall continues to be who the parents of my Morton BOURN/BOURNE/BOWEN were.
Based on census records from 1830, Frederick County, VA to 1860 in Franklin County, MO, my Morton BOURN was born ca. 1795, in VA.
He married Elizabeth Greenlee in Frederick County in either 1816 or 1819. The marriage record was transcribed in publications as Morton BOWEN and Elizabeth GREENY.
Morton and Elizabeth had eight children between 1820 and 1835: Martha, Mildred, William Lucinda, Elizabeth,Morton, Sarah, and John. All children - from my information - were born in Frederick County, VA.
Morton and Elizabeth apparently lived around Winchester, but had property in Back Creek in what it now Bekeley County.
They moved to Franklin County, MO, in 1837. Elizabeth died ca 1848, and Morton remarried to Elizabeth's sister, Lucinda Greenlee. Lucinda died prior to 1850. MOrton then again remarried - this time to Margaret Connally.
I would very much like to get in email contact with ANYONE who has this family in their research in an effort to determine who Morton BOURN (b ca 1795)'s parents were.
From what Ive been able to determine, there were at least four Morton BOURN/BOURNEs in Virginia in the early 1800's.
Family legend indicates that Morton BOURN's parents were WIlliam BOURN and Mildred (Milla) HELM. This couple DID have a son Morton, but indications so far show this Morton was forn in the 1780's.
Any help would be appreciated.
