The research has been a real eye opener as far as the Revolution. Apparently there was a third for British, a third for rebels and a third neutral. The south was more pro British and over half of the battles in the Revolution were fought in South Carolina where it was mainly an awful, bloody civil war. After the initial battles in the north, George Washington had trouble raising and keeping troops. Bottom line, we owe the French big time.

Thanks for the research offer. I have a long standing need about Reed/Reid in early 1800s in Pittsburgh but this is far away and records might not be available in your local library.
