At last I have found Matilda and I am almost 100% sure she was the daughter of Lucy V. Weaver and John W. Weaver. I think Lucy must have been called "Jenny" and John used his middle name "William" I am thinking that her parents
weren't with her when she gave the info for her marriage license??--hence she gave their names as she was used to--Does this sound reasonable to anyone else?
I went to the Rehobeth Methodist Church Cemetery this weekend and took lots of photos of the graves there. Matilda is buried beside of Lucy V. Weaver and there is a William Weaver there whom I think may be Matilda's brother. There isnt a grave site for John W. Weaver. I think he may have died and Lucy then sold the farm he was buried on? I'm reaching here! I am thinking that since Matilda died fairly young, her husband didn't have burial plots in Roanoke or the means to get one--so Matilda was buried in the church cemetery with her mother.
I hope that someone else out there knows this couple : Lucy V. (Jenny) Weaver and John William Weaver who lived in Rocky Mt. Lucy's death date was Jan 31, 1910 ( I think) the old marker is hard to read--Maybe why her grave didnt show up in the published list of those buried there.
