John Robert Walker of Snow Creek, Franklin County

Does anyone have information on John Robert Walker and wife Hattie. I'm very confused. The census records from 1900-1930, show him as John H. Walker, with the exception of 1920 which shows him as J Robert Walker. (Same children on all the census records.) All the census' show Snow Creek Twp or District, Franklin, Virginia.
