Searching for information on William Barton and Emmaline Griffith. They married in Patrick County, VA in 1855 and are found in the 1860 and 1870 census of Franklin County, VA. William and Emmaline had at least nine children and in both of the above mentioned census years, there is a notation that states William was insane. By the 1880 census, son Thomas J. Barton is a boarder with a family in Patrick County, VA and several of the other children are living in Raleigh and Fayette Counties of WV with their maternal grandparents John and Martha Griffith.

Can someone help find out if both William and Emmaline died after the 1870 census or what happened to them? Any information at this point would be very appreciated as that I am having difficulty finding them.
