I don't know how much you have on George Washington Chitwood, but I found the marriage information on him:
Parents Jefferson & Lucy Chitwood: He was married at age 23 on Jan 23, 1867 to Matilda O. Metts, parents, John and Matilda Metts. She was 16. Jefferson Chitwood married Lucy Lumsden on Sept 13, 1832. They got the marriage license on September 3, 1832. I am sure that we are related as my great grandmother was Sarah "Sally" Lumsden, whose father was Creed Lumsden. His father was Dudley Lumsden, whose father was John Lumsden. When I get a minute, I'll go to my files and find Lucy. I have a lot of Lumsden information, as books have been written about them. If I get the time, I'll go by the courthouse and check on the marriage records of your Chitwoods and Fogels. It's possible that he married elsewhere, maybe a surrounding county (Henry, Patrick, Roanoke, Bedford, Pittsylvania). He may have married in her county, since I find no Fogels in my early records.
I'll get back to you.
