States: Virginia: Franklin
I hope to see where the info comes from. I know that Benjamin Brooks of Franklin County served in Capt Heth's VA Independent Company. I don't know what Capt. Heth's first name was, but in all cases of people I found that served in this company thus far; they were from the Bedford Co VA area, and not from PA. Capt Heth's Company did serve in PA at the fort at Pittsburg though. I haven't found Benjamin in the 7th VA, nor have I found a pension listed in the pension abstract books for a Benjamin Brooks that served with Capt Heth's VA independent or the 7th VA. Benjamin Brooks of Franklin got a Bounty Land Warrent; I've found nothing else of his services during the Rev War. In his son's household, William Brooks, in either 1830, or 1840, census a very old man is enumerated and the census taker wrote "blind" beside the hash-mark for this old man. I believe this to be my Benjamin Brooks. I don't recall "Pioneer families of Missouri" saying anything of Benjamin serving in the 7th VA. It is this information I find informative, and interesting for if it is factual; because if the Benjamin Brooks that died in PA in 1838 did serve in the 7th VA Line, he might be one and the same with the Benjamin Brooks of Franklin. There is a query on the Brooks forum that states the name of the woman that William Brooks, son of Benjamin Brooks in PA, married and it wasn't Sellers, so I have great doubts.
