Just returned home a couple of weeks ago
after touring the US and doing some genealogy
in Franklin and Floyd Co. I believe on John
Janney's marriage license he states his mothr
a single woman. In the book about Floyd
states my gggf,Moses Janney married Ann
Swinney. Not true. I do believe that John
Janney, brother to Moses was the father. Have
not proven same, but, perused 27 notebooks
written by a Buel Janney of WVA on Janney
Genealogy. Very confusing reading, but, these books were donated to Marshall College
who have been unable to catalog them, but,
family members are welcome to read them.Ann
Swinney had several illegitmate children so I have been told. Didn't try to prove it!!
This line of Janney's starts with Thomas
Janney and Margery Heath, their 4 sons, one of which was Joseph, who had Wm.who had Isaac who had Moses who had Burwell who was
my grandfather, Robert's father. Does this
confuse you more?<G>Perhaps we should talk
privately. Where do you fit into this clan?
