The Historical Society has a Franklin County Settlement map depicting early settlers in the area from 1786 to 1886 printed in 1976 and there was a Nathan William Swanson and a William Swanson, 1787 who settled between Union Hall, Va and Penhook, VA near the Pittsylvania County Line. Inquires for a copy of the map may be sent to Beverly Merritt PO Box 316 Ferrum, VA 24088. They also have marriage bond books from 1853 to 1898 for sale from the historical society that list Swansons there. Hope this information is helpful - no Swansonville unless it's an oral nickname given to that area.
