Floyd is the county seat of Floyd Co. Floyd is located at the intersection of US 221 and SR 8 - the only permanent stopslight in the county. If coming from Roanoke the court house in on the right at the stop light but in any canse you cannot miss it. The Jesse Peterman Library had a good genealogy section for a small town library. The library is south of the stoplight on your left a few hundred yards from the light.

In addition you may want to go to Christiansburg courthouse also which is about 25 miles away on SR 8 north. It is the county seat of Montgomery county a portion of which was used to from Floyd was formed county in 1831.

What names are you researching??
