Karen,

I have a little information that will help you. The info you have is correct. Jacob Carroll is the son of John Carroll and Docea. He was born in Floyd County but I read somewhere, that John was from Patrick County. No other info on John or Docea. Mary's mother's name was Nancy Duncan. No father is listed on the marriage records that is on record at Floyd. I tried to get a copy of the original but if has been lost and is only on the record books there. However, they did print me out an official record showing the information that is on the marriage records.
They were married 11/4/1888. Jacob was 37 and Mary A. was 23. The A. was abbreviated and it proably does stand for Ann but I can't confirm it. The minister's name was Griffith Reed. Jacob is listed as a widower and Mary was single. I have no idea who his first wife could of been.
I did research for a niece's child on her father's side and his father was the son of Jacob and Mary--Fred Wyatt Carroll.
