Could you post the info you have on Martin: a record with a date, etc.
I descend from Ellender "Ellen" UNDERWOOD b 1825 Franklin Co, VA per 1850 Floyd census where she is wife of William V MITCHELL (they were in Roane Co, (W)VA by 1860. I did a lot of research on the 5 UNDERWOOD families in the 1820 and 1830 Franklin Co census who had daus in 1820-30 time frame. The only one it could be was Emanuel "Manuel" UNDERWOOD who was in 1810, 20, 30 and 40 Franklin census. He died in 1840s, and I can't find a will!?! From census records, he had 10 ch, only 5 of them known: William b 1815; Francis b 1818; Robert b 1820; Ellender b 1825; and Mary b 1829. That leaves: male 1800-10; female 1800-10; female 1800-10; female 1800-10; and female 1820-25.
Could your Martin have been b 1800-10? Have you found him in later census? When did he marry?
