Visit the Library of Virginia website, Index to Chancery Records, insert a particular surname and find the online images of chancery court records. The handwriting is difficult at times, but the cases, which are frequently long and involved may provide the names of family members both direct family and inlaws. The cases refer to wills that can be obtained by other means.
A case involving Bushrod Mills and family vs. George Horseman (1840s) has info on family members.
