B. Bell, yes, I have info on William Wilson, who is my 5th great grandfather. How are you related?
I have it that he was born on JANUARY 30, 1747, not June 30th, in Fairfax, VA. He died April 18, 1842 in Jackson Co., GA. I found more information on him from a posting that I have copied and pasted below from someone named Pamela Zull (do you know her?):
FROM PAMELA ZULL, GENEOLOGY.COM POSTING - firstname.lastname@example.org: Nancy Wilson's father was William Wilson, b. 30 Jan 1747 on the banks of the Potomac River and d. 18 April 1842 in Jackson CO, GA. He served in the militia in SC as a Private. He is DAR Patriot #A127909. The information on his family apparently comes from his pension file which is *R11689. The R is for rejected, but there was other proof of his service that was used for the DAR membership. William's wife was named Ann, b. 1748 in NC and d 29 May 1823 in Jackson CO, GA. The pension file can be accessed on footnote.com but that is by subscription. Anyway, I could not find it on footnote, but there is information in the files of DAR including copies of that pension file and other documentation. Pamela
We have his wife as being "Anne W. Wilson" (maiden name unknown).
Also, my cousin, Pat Miller, from Stone Mountain, GA does all our geneology. You could correspond with her, too. Her e mail address is "email@example.com." She might have additional information.
I hope this helps! Any info you could share with me would be highly appreciated.
