Henry Butler in Fairfax County

I am a Fairfax County resident and recently discovered I had ancestors that lived in the county around 1800. Henry Butler is listed as early as 1787 in the Loudoun County tax lists and after the Fairfax/Loudoun County line was changed in 1798, he appears in Fairfax County records. Thus, Henry Butler lived somewhere west of the 1757 Fairfax/Loudoun County line and east of the current Fairfax County western boundary.

Fairfax County Order Book A-2, 1797-1798 pages 353-354 references Henry Butler’s lot on the “Mill Branch near the mouth of WOLF DEN BRANCH…..” I have been unable to determine where these streams are in Fairfax County. I assume they are part of the Difficult Run watershed but I have been unable to locate them on current county maps and any historical maps I can find on line or at the Virginia Room.

Is there a Fairfax County stream/map expert out there that can help?

Thank you.
