Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Arlene, I looked around the Genforum site and found the answer. When you create a new post, at the bottom there is a box you can check that allows you to make your email address available to all who read your posts. If the reader wants to contact you directly, he can click on your name in the "Posted By" line, and your email address will pop up. However, if you don't check that box, your email address will come up as "hidden." You can also check a box that will allow you to receive a notification from GenForum that someone replied to your post. That is handy if you don't have time to check the boards each day.

Good luck with your research!
