Elizabeth Gates, 1773 - 2 Jan 1857, died and buried in Wood County WV. Was married to Sampson King, 1773 - 19 Feb 1837, died and buried in Wood County WV. They were married in 1801/2 in Alexandria, Fairfax County, VA. She is thought to have come from there(?). They had two daughters: Sarah King (Briant/Bryant) b. 29 Apr 1802 and d. 22 Jun 1880 in Wood County WV, near Parkserburg. Nancy King, b. 11 Jun 1804 and d. 18 Jan 1883. Sarah was m. to Charles E(lija) Briant/Bryant on 20 Nov 1817. They lived in Wood County and had a considerable family: Barnett Briant b. abt 1824, Rowena abt 1826, Charles abt 1833, Margaret 1835, William abt 1838, and Gilead 9 Feb 1844. Gilead is my GreatGrandfather. Nancy King Lockhart was m. to John Moore Lockhart and had 14 children. I have more detail on the Sarah King/Charles Briant line. Do you have anything on the parents of Sampson or Elizabeth Gates? Best regards, Briant Hamor Lee
