I believe that you have the wrong will. John Burnett's will was proved May 21, 1718 naming Amy as the Exectris. Will of John Burnett III, Written Sept. 17 1717, Essex Co., Va. Proved: May 21 1718 Essex Deed and Will Book 15, pp 45 - 46 In the name of God Amen. I John Burnett of Essex County being sick and weak of body but of sound and perfect memory praised be God for the same and knowing the uncertainty of this chancetory life and that ______ is grass and must stoop to death and being desirous to settle things in order before I go hence and be seen no more I do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following: Imprimis, I give and bequeath my soul unto the hands of God Almighty my Creator and maker who gave it me assured by believing that I shall receive full pardon free and absolute remission of all my sins and saved in by and through the precious death of His Son my mendiator and redeemer, Jesus Christ and I bequeath my body to the ground from whence it was taken to be buried in a decent and Chritian manner as to my Executrix and Executor hereafter named shall be thought meet and fit and as for my worldly goods which God in his mercy hath lent me my will and pleasure is that they should be employed and bestowed as hereafter is appointed: #1 Unto my dear and loving wife Amey Burnett one negro man Will to her and her heirs forever. #2 I give unto my son John Burnett a melato girl named Cate to him and his heirs forever. #3 I give unto my son Joseph Burnett a negro girl named Sue to him and his heirs forever. #4 I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Burnett a negro boy Sam to her and her heirs forever. #5 I give unto my daughter Anne Burnett a negro woman Jenny to her and her heirs forever. #6 I give unto my daughter Amey Burnett a negro girl Moll to her and her heirs forever. #7 Futher my desire is that my two sons John Burnett and Joseph Burnett be of age at the years of sixteen and they receive their estate then. #8 I give all the rest of my estate equally to be divided betwwen my loving wife and my five children to them and their heirs forever. #9 Futher my desire is that all my land be equally divided between my sons John Burnett and Joseph to them and thier heirs forever. Futher my desire is that my land be divided between them when they arrive at age 16. #10 I hereby constitute, ordain and appoint my loving wife Amey Burnett and my well beloved brother Thomas Burnett Juner my whole and sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament - some of my Will being on the backside of this sheet of paper wherefore I have affixed my hand and seal this 17th day of September 1717.
