Robert, if you are going to try to put together Hawks families in Tn, there was a Henton Hawks in the 1840 census of Monroe Co. Tn. that may be connected to Greenville since he married there in 1841. There were also 2 more Hawk marriages close to that date in Monroe Co. An Alfred Hawks married Martha Grimment on Feb. 20, 1838 and a Newton Hawks married Mary C. Hubbard on Mar. 3, 1845. I do hope theres a connection. Do any of these names show up in your Tn. Families. When your book is finished, I want to buy a copy.
