Teresa, my Hawks were from Dinwittie also, but have run into a brick wall on my gggrandfather, Greenville Hawks. His father, some say was John. Joh and Eliza didn't have a Greenville listed with their children. Greenville was born in 1820-21. Married 1841 in Monroe Co. Tn to Rachel Robinette. They were in the 1860 census in Jefferson Co. IL. They moved to Stoddard Co. Mo. later and was in the 1880 census. Couldn't find them in 1870. Greenville died in 1886 in Stoddard Co. Mo. They had 9 children, William Albert,Emma, Margaret, James A.,John Wesley, Nicholas,Benjamin, and 2 more between Nicholas and Ben, which would've been listed in the 1870 census. After Rachel died, Greenville remarried and had 3 more, Loren, Elisey, and Eliza. Do any of these names ring a bell? He had brothers, but don't know their names either. Please e-mail me if you have any info.
