Bill,
I have a Robert G. Haynes b. c1815 Bean Shoals, Surry Co. NC, son of William Graves Haynes and Martha (Hill) Haynes, married to Susan Phipps, b. Mar 1818 Germanton, Surry Co. NC, daughter of Joseph F. and Patsy (White) Phipps.
I show Robert died before 1900 as Susan was shown as a widow, living along in the 1900 Dickenson Co. VA Census. She was living next door to her son, George Wilburn Haynes.
Robert and Susan had the following children:

Julia Ann b. Aug 1849 NC

Preston T. b. 13 Oct 1852 Surry Co. NC

I am connected to this family through Preston T. Haynes who was the first husband of my gt grandmother Mariah Mullins. After Preston's death she married by gt grandfather Charles Greenville Rakes.
