Seeking information on the descendants of Wm. Scott whose 1797 will directs that all his estate be sold and monies be distributed amongst his un-named, surviving children. I suspect that Wm. Scott was earlier a resident of Cumberland Co., VA and might be the father of yet another Wm. Scott, b. 1755 whose Revolutionary War pension application indicates that he was a resident of Cumberland Co. when he joined the militia in 1777. Wm. Scott, b. 1755 later was a resident of SW Virginia ca. 1785-1802, finally moving to Wayne Co., KY ca. 1804 where he remained until 1830 at which time he moved to Morgan Co., IL where he d. 1836.
