Amelia Co. VA Deed Book 21, p. 22 contains a Nov. 7, 1799 deed from John James and Harrison Jones of Cumberland Co. to Jesse Walton (of "said county" - presumably Amelia?) conveying a tract of land in Amelia on both sides of Stockes Creek "being the land my father Thomas James purchased of John Boughton containing two hundred acres." Deed was recorded January 23, 1800.
Does anyone have any further information on John James or Harrison Jones? One of the witnesses was Reuben Jones.
