Lipscomb Family in Cumberland County
Posted by: Sarah Phillips (ID *****4318) Date: June 02, 2005 at 17:37:02

I am researching the Lipscomb family in Cumberland County. Henry Lipscomb owned and employed a combination of slaves and free colored people early in the 1800s. After his death they appear on succeeding censuses as a small community of free colored people, mulattoes, and whites. I believe they are my ancestors. Can anyone tell me anything about this family? Can anyone tell me how to find out more about them? Thank you very much.
