Thanks for your reply. According to my records, based on a Kentucky marriage document, censuses and death certificates, Beverly Sullivan b. 1798 VA d. 1868 KY was married to Elizabeth Thornton (Thorne) in 1825 in Mason Co., KY. They came with their parents in the same group from Culpeper Co., VA to Mason Co., KY.
The marriage record shows Elizabeth Thornton while a death certificate for Mary Jane Sullivan Holliday shows Elizabeth Thorne. Census records show Thorn in 1800 and Thornton in 1810 in Mason Co., KY.
Beverly and Elizabeth had the following children:
Mary Jane Sullivan b. 17 Dec. 1826 d. 31 Dec. 1912 married 1) Robert McClellan and 2) Joshua Holliday.
Lydia Ann Sullivan b. 1827 married Edward Horace Porter.
Garrett Perrine Sullivan b. 2 May 1829 d. 19 Nov. 1914 married Susannah Thetford Pierce in Mason Co., KY.
Augustus G. Sullivan b. 10 Sep 1832 d. 22 Feb. 1905 married Elizabeth Wood.
Edmond Sullivan b. 1838.
George Sullivan b. 1840 married Alice Kohl.
Susan E. Sullivan b. 1843 d. 2 Feb. 1913 married William Bennett.
Elizabeth Thornton(Thorne) Sullivan is living with her daughter Susan Bennett and family in the 1870 census for Mason Co., KY.
Garrett Perrine Sullivan is my great-grandfather. Grandfather is Joseph Pickett Sullivan who married Mary Alice Hainline in 1892 (his 2nd wife)in Montgomery Co., KY. Father is Virgil Elwood Sullivan who married Ivatilla Cox in 1936 in Louisville, KY.
My real interest at this time is to correctly identify Beverly's parents.
