Checked this out (and will send you a better report at your pers. add.) and Samuel W. is the son of McLain CLingan and wife Juliet. The Mary E. in the census is his sister. Juliet died bet. 1850 & 1855 and he re-married by 1855 [note Wm. H. age in 1860 census]. McLane died in 1876 and his wife re-married. Have set up the info if anyone else wants it.
