Thanks very much. Your time and response to my query are much appreciated and I will pass along the information you provided about the book to the Canter History Group.

We have just recently been able to contact the son of Garland Canter, a former mayor of Berryville, who is himself a descendant of James' elder brother John, also a Revolutionary War veteran who served under Daniel Morgan. The photos of the Canters at the Clarke Co Historical Site were much enjoyed and we are now sharing information about this particular family and their history in the area. We still have some sleuthing to do, but perhaps when we're finished we can donate a family file to the Clarke County Historical Society if you're interested. Just let me know.

Best regards,

-- Kate
