Pam: Any records before 1836 are in Frederick County which is our parent County. Handley Regional Library in Winchester has a large genealogy archives. What is now Jefferson County was Frederick until the 1770s, then Berkley until 1801 when it became a separate county. All three county records will need to be checked for various periods to find your group. There was an Everhart family that was in Clarke after 1836, but I don't think the published genealogy of that family went back that far.
