Hi Pat,

I was surprised to get a reply to a 2000 message--but most interested as I've not yet solved the problem. I have quite a bit of info on Josiah Ware. I do think he is related in some way to my Eliza Philipine Ware Anderson--perhaps a cousin. The former Anderson farm adjoins the former Josiah Ware property. There were other Wares living nearby on the Shenandoah River. Eliza's brother had a mill and she lived with him for a time. I believe her parents had died. She later married a later Joseph E. Anderson (not the Joseph E. you were talking about in your messages to Don Royston). I've never been able to determine her parentage. Though her obituary states that she lived all her life in Clarke County, she was born in 1832 and thus could have been born in Jefferson County, WVA which was at that time was part of Virginia. She was the last owner of the Anderson farm which was sold in 1919. None of the children wanted to continue farming.

Yes, I'm familiar with the Joseph Anderson you're talking about. He is a Grandfather of mine. I finally proved him as a "new" patriot in the Revolution with the DAR. He had never been used before. That took a lot of research. Took me into the realm of deeds. Only finished that a couple of years ago.

I have some info on both Cornelius and Daniel. Can't recall what you were interested in. Both were in the Revolution. Cornelius moved to Ohio ca 1815. Then moved on to Garrett, KS. There seem to be lapses in naratives from time of Cornelius up to John James Anderson b. Jun 3, 1853 in MO. He married Nancy ?

Daniel m. Mary Huff and they had 3 children--Catherine m. Moses Wood, Jerath, and Sarah. I have a copy of his pension application. Sarah died of cancer. The application states the other children were deaf. In 1853 the living children were granted an increase in the pension rate.

Sorry about the delay in answering but couln't find my password for GenForum and had to send for it--then no time for the computer. Haven't had much time for genealogy. The Andersons have a very long history as you probably know and info keeps popping up.

Thanks for the answer.
