I have an Avis Rudd...but she was married to Thomas Cheatham. She may not be the Avis Rudd you are asking about but just in case here's what I have on her: Daughter of Thomas Rudd, she was born around 1747. She married Thomas Cheatham IV in 1765 in Chesterfield County. Notes: 10 November 1795 - Thomas ELLOTT and Prudence h/w, and Peter CHEATHAM, Thomas CHEATHAM, and Eleazar CHEATHAM by Peter CHEATHAM their guardian and next friend, and John COATES and Tabitha h/w vs Barnett CHEATHAM, Robertson CHEATHAM, and Samuel CHEATHAM, sons and administrators of Thomas CHEATHAM, dec'd., and Avis CHEATHAM, widow and Admx. Court orders that estate be divided 1/3 to widow & 1/8 to each of others. (Chstrfld Co. COB 11, p. 239) September 1818 - Will of Avis RUDD CHEATHAM written. She names daughter Prudence ELLIOTT ($1.00), son Barnett ($1.00), son Robertson ($1.00), daughter Tabitha COATS (1 feather bead, 1/3 part of all bed clothes, 1 trunk, and 1/2 of wearing clothes), son Samuel ($1.00), son Thomas ($1.00), son Eleazer (debt due to me from my son Thomas of $25.00), Sally CHEATHAM, wife of son Peter (all residue of estate, all stock of every description, house hold and kitchen furniture, all other goods). John R. WALKE and James ELAM were exors. (Chesterfield Co., VA, WB 9, p. 71) On 14 December 1818 John R. WALKE exor. removed his right in open court and on motion of Tabitha COATS who took oath and was granted letters of administration Notify Administrator about this message?
