RODGERS FAMILY IN CHARLOTTE CO, VA
Posted by: Connie Willis Date: May 31, 2000 at 08:53:57

Looking for information on Thomas Rodgers who married Elizabeth Ann Jane Carr and resided in Charlotte County VA from possibly 1738 to 1786 when he died there. He was a member of the Caldwell settlement and helped to establish Cub Creek Presbyterian Church.
He lists seven sons in his will Thomas, Samuel, John, Benjamin, James, Nathaniel, and Andrew. Samuel married Elizabeth Brent, we do not know whether he moved or stayed in Charlotte County. Nathaniel married first Frances Cobbs and second Catherine Brent, lived in Bedford county, served in Revolutionary War, later moved to Kentucky and died there. He spelled his name without the "d". Andrew married Letty Franks and moved to South Carolina. Benjamin resided in Halifax County and married Nancy Hill. The others we do not know about. There could have been more sons and probably daughters. Need help on this family.
Thanks, Connie
