John Middleton homestead (Cub creek settlement)

I am looking for any information to be had on John Middleton's homestead which was part of the original Cub Creek settlement in Charlotte County, also known as Calwell Colony. The deed for the land would have been given around 1740, so I will post in Brunswick and Lunenburg Counties as well, Charlotte having come from Lunenburg, and Lunenburg from Brunswick during the formation of VA counties after the deed was given.
Any help on this will help, as we just returned from an expedition to the site on the banks of Cub Creek, and want to know more about the land to get more proof as to ancestry, etc. We know they were part of the group that came down from Lancaster County, PA with John Caldwell, and settled there. Any info would be of help.
