Old Charlotte County Gravestones

Last night I attended a meeting in the Genealogy Library at Charlotte Courthouse. The purpose of the meeting was to organize material gathered on old burials grounds, single graves, and current cemeteries located in Charlotte County.
This group of people are very dedicated. They are trying to find as many of the old graves as we can and photograph these graves, before they are lost forever. Yes, I said we, because my neighbor Larry Newcomb and I decided to join the group, after seeing the dedication of the people involved.
Prior to attending this meeting, we were searching only for Newcomb graves but were photographing any old graves that we happened upon and were putting them on Find A Grave to help people locate their ancestors.
We need HELP.We need people to tell us if they have any old graves on their property. We also need more volunteers.Charlotte County is a large area and the more volunteers, the better!
The material gathered will eventually be put into a book published by the group to benefit future research and add more material to the Library.
This book will help so many people in the search for their roots.
Please, if anyone knows of any graves located in woods or on farms, let us know.
Thank You.
