Don't have much on him individually (he is supposed to have moved to Arkansas sometime around 1835). But here is what I have on his parents and siblings. . . .

Descendants of George Hannah, of "Old Gravel Hill"

Generation No. 1

       1. George3 Hannah, of "Old Gravel Hill" (Andrew2, George1) was born 18 Jun 1780, and died 12 Jun 1870. He married (1) Martha "Patsey" Brent 07 Nov 1805 in Charlotte Co., VA by Rev. John H. Rice, daughter of James Brent. She died Abt. 1814. He married (2) Lucy Morton 11 Dec 1816 in Charlotte Co., VA, daughter of John Morton and Susannah Watkins. She was born 10 Jul 1798, and died 14 Oct 1872.

Notes for George Hannah, of "Old Gravel Hill":
Most of the dates pertaining to the Hannahs were furnished by Dr. J.D. Eggleston, Hampden-Sydney, Va. Other substantial contributors were Mrs. Anne Atkinson chamberlayne, also of Hampden-Sydney, and Mrs. Emory Shaffer, Bryn Mawr, Pa.) George and Patsey Hannah made Grove Hill their home. The house was set on a brick English basement with two rooms on the first floor and a half-story attic. On either end were small wings, one a bedroom and the other a porch. Patsey died about 1814 leaving two children, Joel Watkins and Julia Anne Hannah. In 1816 George remarried taking as his bride Lucy Morton, daughter of Col. William Morton. Three children blessed this union: George Cunningham, William M., and Susan Watkins Hannah.

George Hannah, often referred to as Captain George, was an extensive farmer as well as a militia officer. In 1805 he took the oath of an officer in the Charlotte Militia; and in 1807 he was named Captain of a cavalry troop. He also held the same rank in the Charlotte County Dragoons, a cavalry unit that served during the War of 1812.

Upon his return from the war, Captain George's life resumed the order typical of a Virginia planter - a productive farm. After the death of his second wife, Lucy, in 1823, he focused his attention to the upringing of his children. As they approached their adult yers, he watched four of his offspring move from Grove Hill. In 1835 his oldest son, Joel, migrated to Arkansas in the company of some thirty families from Charlotte and Prince Edward counties. Julia, who married Samuel H. Thomas in 1831, eventually removed to Arkansas. Susan Watkins, who married Quin L. Mortin in 1838, lived first in Mississippi, then moved back to Charlotte, and finally settled in Tennessee. William M. married Mary E. Richardson and made his home in Appomattox County. The only child to remain at Grove Hill (now called Old Gravel Hill) was George Cunningham Hannah. Captain George took an active role in the life of Cub Creek Presbyterian Church. He sered as an elder for fifty years (1820-1870) and was active in the Sunday School program.
