Jane Smith m. Trent - Charlotte Co. VA

Yep, I've run across another Trent I don't seem to be able to identify.

Elisha Smith (b. c 1780, d. bef 1860) and his wife Martha (--?--) had 14 children. Most are unidentified at this point and all appear to have been born in Charlotte County, VA. One of the children was Jane Smith (b. bet 1834-1840, d. aft 1880.

Jane was living at home until at least 1850. Then I lose track of her until 1880 when she appears in the home of her brother, Martin Smith, under the name of Jane Trent. She was widowed by 1880. They were living in the Falling River area of Campbell County.

The problem I have is which Trent did Jane Smith marry? She had no children living with her in 1880, so tracking her through her children seems to be out of the question.

There was George Washington Trent that married Jane Elliott in Campbell County. They were married in 1845, while Jane Smith appeared to still be living at home. So that seems to let that Trent-Jane relationship out.

I'd really appreciate any comments or thoughts on who this Trent might be. :-)
