I am not a relation (that I am aware of) to Capt. George Cabiness BUT I do have a picture of Confederate veterans from Charlotte Co. and Capt. George Cabiness is identified as one of the men in the picture. I have placed the picture on the Charlotte County rootsweb site. It is located at:

http://www.rootsweb.com/~vacharlo/carrcamp.htm

Capt. George Cabiness is the man standing 2nd to the right of the flag at the top of the picture. He is dressed in all dark clothing and has a long white beard. According to my relatives Capt. Cabiness always wore a long beard because his chin was very deformed from a wound received during the Civil War.....according to my family the wound happened at Gettysburg (legend as far as I know...you would need to verify this through his Confederate service records).
