George W. Pooley and Mildred Toombs

Hi. I am hoping someone could help me with my line of Pooleys or just as good, the Toombs line. My Pooleys, as far back as I have gone, came or were just married in Charlotte Co VA. George and Mildred married 15 Jul 1857. Mildred was said to be a Holmes per the family history but on the marriage it is spelt Toombs. I looked up and found several Toombs living in Charlotte Co and I think her fathers name is Header/Heater. That's the best I can make out. If anyone out there is connected to these families, I would love to hear from you. I am greatly interested in George Pooley because it was said that his father was full blood Cherokee Indian. But on a census it stated his father was of foreign birth. So I am confused.
Please, any help would be appreciated.
