Thanks very much for your reply to my query about Thomas Taylor's parents.
You are correct; the pre-nuptial agreement between Thomas Taylor and James Jones, Jr., the brother of Elizabeth Jones and Thomas Taylor's prospective brother-in-law, was unusual. Another odd aspect to the story is that, although the pre-nuptial agreement was made in 1704, it was not filed in the Prince George Co., VA court until February 8,1725. James Jones, Jr. made his will in 1724 and it was porbated on July 13,1725. Apparently, James Jones, Jr. felt that the terms of the agreement had not been performed by Thomas Taylor and before he, Jones, died wanted to get the agreement on record with the local court.
I am still looking for the names of Thomas Taylor's parents.
