Phil E. Chappell, in his book, A Genalogical History of the Chappell, Dickie and Other Kindred Families, writes on page 66 that following the death of Thomas, Elizabeth did not long remain a widow, for among the records has been found a unique and peculiar document, the meaning of which was for a time difficult to understand. It proved, however, to be a bond given to James Jones, in the nature of ante-nuptial contract, by one Thomas Taylor, the prospective husband of his widowed daughter, Elizabeth Chappell...there follows a rather lengthy description of the contract. This book was printed in 1901. If you can not find a copy, please let me know and I will copy the pages for you
