Hi Ron:

Thank you Ron - this helps Now - in an abstract written about a court case involving the estate of William KENNY,Sr., it states that he and Rosanna had six children and it names the sons. I am not so concerned with whether or not Elizabeth is their daughter or not; but the sons Hance, Robert and William Jr. is of concern to me as other families have claimed them and I am not sure about - say- which Hance H KENNY died in the Civil War and if it was indeed the same Hance KENNY who married both Letitia Edwards and then Virginia Williams Early - and also did live in Sullivan Co TN. Did widow Virginia move back to Carroll Co after Hance died? Or is the Hance who lived in TN the one who married Minerva Worrell? One Hance Kenny was Hance Henderson Kenny.

I also cannot find any reference that would point to the KENNYs or the DUNNs being in Frederick Co VA except for an unproven mention in "Pioneer Settlers---Grayson".
My personal theory is that several of these connected families including my Farmers, Hursts and Earlys to have German roots and were likely to have lived in the Frederick Co VA area where some of my other German families were - such as the Stephens, Chrismans and Hites. I believe Hance is an anglicized ersion of Hans.

Some folks show William Sr's father to be a John KENNY but I'd rather think he would be the Rev War Veteran Hance KENNY with that name going down all the KENNY lines in VA and TN. 'Course Hance coulda been their uncle.

So.....I'm still hoping for more clarification if possible.
Thank you Ron - good to see you are still kickin'. Debbie
