Hi Ron,

Thought about that too but their oldest son was born in 1879(I know that doesn't mean anything) and I find them(George & the Shockley) in later censuses in Roanoke--While I find the George W. & Elizabeth W. in the censuses in Carroll from 1900 until 1930. I've found 2 or 3 possibilities but don't wnat to request copies of birth, marriage or death certificates til I'm almost sure.

I've contacted George's grandaughter in Woodlawn (thanks to the obit you sent me when you found all of his children's names and gave them to me)--but I haven't heard back from her yet.

Thank you for all of the help you have given me--maybe I'll stumble upon something soon or my relative can find something for me.
