I am interested in my grandmothers gg Grandfather (A Quaker) Joshua Albertson b. <1810> in Guilford County, NC. I am not sure of the death date. He married Mary/Polly (I believe her last name was Burton, b. in Guilford County, NC. Joshua and Mary had six children.
Mary L. b. 1837 Guilford Co.,NC;
Lorenzo W. b.1838 Guilford Co., NC;
Sarah L. b. 1839 Guilford Co., NC;
Lewis T. b. 1841 Davidson Co., NC
Patience L. b. 1847 Guilford Co., NC
Luther Bethel b. 15, March 1850 Guilford Co, NC
There is a Joshua on the 1840 Census for Davidson county but I'm not sure this is the Joshua I'm researching. My Joshua does appear on 1850 Census in Guilford Co., NC with wife Mary/Polly. 1860 Census shows Joshua and Mary in Randolph Co., NC; In 1870 Census they appear on the Carroll Co., VA Census in Fancy Gap District; 1880 Census they are in Carroll County, VA Fancy Gap District. This is the last census I could find with them on it in North Carolina or Virginia. I am not sure of the death date of Joshua but I have reason to believe that he is buried at Springfield Friends Cemetery in High Point, NC. Unfortuanty the grave marker is broken.
I am trying to Find Joshua's parents names. I know his parents were born in NC from the Census records but I have no idea where. I found it interesting in my research that on the Census records from Fancy Gap, Carroll County, VA in 1870 and 1880 there was an Isaac Albertson listed as well with his wife Charity. Isaac is only about two years younger than Joshua and I believe he may be Joshua's brother.
I would like to see if anyone knows who Joshua Albertson's parents are. Did he have any siblings? When did he die and where? Also conformation that his wife's name being Mary/Polly Burton daughter of Thomas Burton and Sarah Epps. Does anyone have any information on her?
I would be glad to share any information I have with anyone who is researching this line of the Albertson Family. I may also be able to help in several other Albertson's in NC that I have stumbled accross in my research.
