You're most welcome to the information.

Frances Elizabeth Henly gave her parents' names when she married Oliver Dishon in Carroll.

Where there is a death record in Carroll, the parents' names were usually given. However, I've never run across any obituaries in Carroll prior to 1900.

I have no information other than family legend that James worn born in Franklin and died in Mecklenburg. That was just what was passed onto me by my grandfather, so I don't know if it's true or not.

My branch of Halls came from Thomas Hall, born about 1785 in Halifax Co. He md Nancy Semones in Prince Edward County and then moved to Franklin. He came to Grayson/Carroll in 1813 and settled at Hardscuffle. He died here in 1827.

I have not been successful in tracing his ancestry back any further.

best regards,
Ron Hall
