I am in need of researcher assistance for Carroll Co. VA. Several members of my ancestral family died there between 1860 and early 1900's and I want to obtain their records of death and hopefully any newspaper articles including obituaries that might exist. Please contact me if you are available to research for me:
Elizabeth Dodd Henley a/k/a "Betsey" last recorded 1860 Carroll Co. VA Census at home of her son James E. She was 71 y/o on that census.
A daughter Miriam Henley Jenkins died 8 Aug 1878 Carroll Co. VA
A son Josiah Henley died 11 Apr 1890 Carroll Co. VA
A son Lewis Henley died 7 Dec 1899 Carroll Co. VA
A son James E. Henley and wife Mahala were on the 1860 census for Carroll Co. VA he was a farmer - don't know date of death for him.
A son Fleming Henley listed on 1850 census as "idiot"
I don't have any record of his death.
James B. Henley is the father of this family - James and Elizabeth were married 1804 in Franklin Co. VA have never seen him on a census - neither do I have date of death but his family moved into Carroll Co. VA so just in case I've included him here. Please advise if you are able to assist. Sincerely, Rose Mary S. Rudy -
