I find that the mystery of Smythers marring his sisters daughter is not that far fetched. In my research, which I don't have handy at this moment, the Smythers line appears to connect back to itself in a couple of places. I suppose a by product of people from small towns not moving to far for generations. it appears our family tree sometimes looks like a stick.
