U.S. States: Virginia: Caroline County
Edward Lynch died in Spartanburg Co., SC in 1798. His will names several children including his daughter Jane who married Bordroyne/Boardwine Waters (the younger). Boardwine had been born in Prince William Co., VA in 1762. Jane Lynch was born c. 1764 and died 1846 in Spartanburg Co. I have been told that Edward Lynch may have migrated to SC from Caroline Co., VA. Also that the Lynch family may have been in Rhode Island earlier. Does anyone have any information that would help me learn anymore about Edward, his wife, siblings and parents?
Boardwine Waters' father was also named Boardwine. Boardwine the elder's parents were Philemon Waters II and wife Sarah Bordroyne of Prince William and his grandfather was Philemon Waters I who was of Stafford and later Prince William. The second Prince Wm Co. courthouse was built on the plantation of Philemon I.
All or most of the children of Philemon II and Sarah migrated to SC before the Revolution. Was Edward Lynch associate with them in Va. and did they migrate together?
