Pardon me! I saw you surname of Hewlett and wondered if you are a Virginia or Kentucky Hewlett?? Or Long Island? I am a member of a Missouri Reunion of Hewlett descendants who are from Henry County Va but court court records of these ancestors has them listed as orphans of a Thomas Hewlett (17--1759) and Margaret his widow and 6 children, Martin (1754-1816, Thomas 17--1787), William 17-- - 1821, Martha Hewlett Lacey, Susannah H Darnall and possibly 1 other child who was apprenticed. I know Martin Hewlett and wife Jane Henry Moseley migrated from Henry Co VA about 1783-84 to Greene Co. SC by 1788 where their son Samuel Moseley was born 1788, and his brother Lemuel in 1790. They were in Hopkins Co. KY by 1800. Martin died in 1816 and Jane Hewlett died in 1831 in Hopkins County, KY; her Will is Will Book 3, pg 111 and names all her 8 children by name and 1 grandson by her daughter Martha. We are having a 75 Year Diamond Jubilee Reunion this coming September 20 2009 for descendants of Samuel M Hewlett in SW Missouri. Just received a response from a 'H cousin' of Isham Hewlett, the next to youngest child of Martin & Jane Henry Moseley Hewlett who is planning to come to MO Reunion. Please contact me if you need Virginia "Hewlett" history. Thanks, Jean gawbuck@sbcglobal.net Dallas, TX Notify Administrator about this message?
