The following information is recorded in the Journal of Olivia E Burruss Robinson, 1 Jan 1888-31 Dec 1890. She lived in Berkley Township, Spotsylvania Co,until 1900. Some of these folks may have lived in Caroline Co, VA or elsewhere.

2 Jan Mrs. Harrison Jones, burial (she d. 12/31/87)
12 Apr "Old Mrs. Fannie Smith was buried today at Mr. Butler's"
2 Jul Mr. Bob Luck, burial. "Kate Davis told me of Mr. Bob Luck's funeral sermon. He died about noon on the 1st."
18 Nov "Mag (Olivia's sister) told me of the death of Old Mrs. Sizer . . . She was a very old lady and was quite sick the day I was there."

19 Jan Mrs. Payne's burial
31 Jan Mr. Bob Smith was buried at Mr. Butler's
17 Feb Mr. Lewis Humphries died, buried the next day
7 Mar Martha Harris died, buried the next day. (Olivia made the shroud.)
5 Jul "Jeter Corr died this morning. He was kicked by a horse last Monday."
19 Aug Mrs. Ann Richardson was buried at Mr. James Davis's place.
2 Sep Mrs. George Henry Sacra (Bettie M) died
15 Sep "I heard of Col Goodwin's death. His son in law Charlie Pendleton shot him on Friday."

7 Jun Tommie Burruss died of the flux. Tommie, who was Olivia's nephew, s/o Joseph and Lena Burruss, had been sick since May 26.
7 Jun Mr. Geiger died. Olivia visited him on May 14, 20, and 21, on which date she wrote that he was sitting up, dressed and "looked the very picture of death."
7 Aug "Mrs. Sallie Hill was buried this evening." The next sentence: "We saw Mr. Waller Humphries and family pass along the road." (Note: I think Mrs. Sallie Hill is a daughter of Mrs. Ann Richardson, whose death is noted above. Richardson lived with Archie and Sally Hill in Spotsy in 1880.She was the widow of William Richardson. The name is sometimes spelled Richerson in Censuses.)
30 Sep "Tilda Wiglesworth came to my window very early and said Mildred (Johnson) died last night." Olivia visited Mildred John six times between September 19 and September 29. On the 19th she writes that Mildred "is very low with consumption." On Monday the 29th she writes: "Stopt to see Mildred & thought her surely in a dying condition."

Olivia mentions the following deaths as well:

15 Sep Mrs. Alice Gertrude Philips, d/o Miles Turpin Phillips, Olivia's great uncle.
7 Sep George Snead, s/o Ann Leonora Phillips Snead, Olivia's great aunt.
13 Dec "I read an account of the death in Richmond of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States during the late war."

Finally, she writes on Tuesday, 11 Nov 1890, that her husband Willis Robinson assisted "in the disinterment of Mrs. Wilton's remains, which will be sent to New York for re-interment, beside her husband. She was buried seven years ago May 1st."
